history

Wataniya Airways was founded in 2005 and began flight operations in 2009, initially with an Airbus A320-200 . In the course of the same year three more aircraft of the same model were added, and another three followed in 2010. In March 2011, however, flight operations had to be stopped and a comeback planned for 2014 was unsuccessful for the time being. Flight operations could only be resumed in July 2017. At the Dubai Air Show 2017, a letter of intent was signed with Airbus to purchase 25 Airbus A320neo .

The airline ceased operations for the second time at the beginning of September 2018.

The airline flew to Egypt , Azerbaijan , Bahrain , Bosnia and Herzegovina , Georgia , Iraq and Lebanon .
