Coordinates: 37 ° 36 ′  S , 140 ° 21 ′  E The Wattle Range Council is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 3,924 km² and has around 11,600 inhabitants (2016).

Wattle Range is located in the extreme southeast of South Australia on the border with Victoria about 420 kilometers southeast of the metropolis of Adelaide and 410 kilometers west of Melbourne . The area includes 40 districts and towns: Beachport, Benara, Benara Flat, Canunda, Comaum, Coonawarra, Furner, Glencoe, Glencoe West, Glenroy, Gray, Hatherleigh, Kalangadoo, Katnook, Killanoola, Kirip, Koorine, Krongart, Leggs Lane, Maaoupe , Millicent, Mount Burr, Mount Graham, Mount McIntyre, Nangula, Nangwarry, Penola , Pompoon, Rendlesham, Rivoli Bay, Rocky Camp, Sebastapol, Short, Snuggery, Southend, St Clair, Tantanoola, Thornlea, Wattle Range and Wyrie. The council's headquarters are in Millicent, west of the LGA.

The Wattle Range Council has twelve members, eleven councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (two each from Riddoch, Sorby Adams and Kintore Ward, five from Corcoran Ward). These four districts are defined independently of the localities. The council chairman and mayor is also elected by all residents of the LGA.
