Weber Maschinenbau is a company headquartered in Breidenbach , Marburg-Biedenkopf district , and manufactures and sells special applications for the food processing industry at home and abroad, including cutting machines, food robots, packaging machines and derinding and membrane skinning machines. The focus is on high-performance cutting machines (so-called "slicers") for sausage, ham, fresh meat and cheese, with which Weber is the world market leader.

history

Günther Weber founded his company under the name "Weber Fleischerei Technik GmbH" in 1981 with six employees. The annual turnover in 2018 was over 230 million euros. The technical development department cooperates with universities and research institutions in Germany and abroad - especially with RWTH Aachen University and the Technical University of Central Hesse .

Since 2010 the company has been in the list of 1,000 German world market leaders in Manager-Magazin and is one of the country's most innovative companies.

Locations

Around 1400 people (as of 2018) are employed in the food industry.
