Wedige von der Schulenburg (born May 9, 1945 in Beetzendorf ( Saxony-Anhalt )) is a politician ( CDU ) from Bremen . He was a long-time member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Von der Schulenburg comes from the noble family Schulenburg in Altmark . He is the son of the officer Wedige von der Schulenburg (1896–1977) and grandson of the Prussian district administrator and politician Werner von der Schulenburg (1841–1913).

education and profession

Von der Schulenburg completed a commercial apprenticeship at Siemens from 1965 to 1968 . He worked at Siemens in Bremen until 1980, most recently as sales manager. After working in politics, he was managing director of ATEC Handelsgesellschaft mbH in Bremen from 1987 to 1997 .

politics

Von der Schulenburg is a member of the CDU, mostly in Bremen- Oberneuland . From 1973 to 1977 he was chairman of the Junge Union in Bremen. From 1980 to 1983 he was General Secretary of the CDU Bremen . From 1980 to 1987 he was managing director of the Weser Report, which was close to the CDU at the time . He is chairman of the senior citizens' union of the CDU in Bremen and a member of the district board of his party. In 2011 he ran the initiative in the CDU against Thomas Röwekamp to elect a new state chairman by party members.

From 1971 to 1999 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship for 28 years and was active in various deputations and committees of the citizenship. From 1979 to 1983 he was chairman of the Petitions Committee and from 1983 to 1991 Vice-President of the Citizenship. He was a member of the Interior Deputation for 32 years. After his time in parliament, he was a member of the Interior Deputation from 1999 to 2003 and a member of the Economic Deputation from 2003 to 2007.
