The Wegert Bluff is a cliff at the Oates Coast in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises in the Wilson Hills on the northeastern foothills of a short mountain ridge that overlooks the eastern flank of the Noll Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the formation based on surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Lieutenant Commander Sidney J. Wegert of the US Navy, pilot of a Lockheed C-130 Hercules during Operation Deep Freeze in 1967 and 1968.
