The Landesliga Hessen 1948/49 was the fourth season of the top Hessian amateur class after the Second World War . It was located one level below the Oberliga Süd . The two league relegated Viktoria Aschaffenburg and Rot-Weiss Frankfurt as well as the three promoted SV Wiesbaden , Union Niederrad and 1. FV Bebra came new to the league .

Hessian amateur champion in 1949 was KSV Hessen Kassel , which, however, failed in the subsequent round of promotion to the Oberliga Süd. With the VfL Kassel , the 1. FV Bebra and the VfB 06 Großauheim three clubs were relegated.
