Wehlitz (desert)

Wehlitz is a desert near Elbitz, which belongs to the village of Neehausen , in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz . The place was at the point where the stream from Volkmaritz flows into the Laweke , ruins can no longer be found.

history

  • Wehlitz was probably a Slavic foundation, it was peacefully taken in the 9th or 10th century.
  • On July 13, 1320, Archbishop Ernst sells the house and court Hedersleben with, among other things, Welitz as an accessory to Count Burchard von Mansfeld.
  • On November 14, 1428, Count Otto von Brehna sold the archbishopric, among other things, a hoof and a half in Weliicz .
  • In 1477 the places Lochwitz , Rottelsdorf and today's Wüstungen Gerkwitz, Wegeleben and Welitz are mentioned as accessories of Seeburg .
