The Weißkinndrossel ( Turdus aurantius ) is a songbird from the thrush family (Turdidae).

features

The bird measures 24–26 cm and weighs 82 g. The plumage is glossy dark brown on top, white wing edge, the underside is gray, the beak and legs are orange.

Occurrence

The White Chin Thrush occurs in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands . It prefers subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and mountain forests .

behavior

The bird feeds on insects and snails, but also on fruits and berries. The first brood takes place in May – July, a second into August.

Hazardous situation

The white chinn thrush is considered not to be endangered ( least concern ).
