The Weißseespitze ( Slovak stit Jahňací , polish Jagnięcy Szczyt , Hungarian Feher-TAVI Csúcs ) is a zweigipfeliger mountain in the Slovak part of the Tatras in the northeastern an extended solid mass at the end of the main ridge. The two peaks, the southwest of which is the higher, are connected by an almost horizontal ridge. At the Weißseespitze a ridge crosses to the northeast, which slopes down to the Kopapass, and a southeast ridge, which extends to the Gemsenspitze ( Kozí štít ).

topography

The Weißseespitze is located between the Blauseeturm ( Belasá veža ) in the massif of the English peak ( Malý Kolový štít ) - it is separated by the Plockseejoch and the Thörichten Gern ( Hlúpy ) - and the Great Saddle Pass, which marks the border between the High Tatras and the Bela Tatras .

Above the Pflockseejoch ( Kolové sedlo ) in the southwestern ridge of the Weißseespitze are, one after the other,

  • the peg lake notch ( Kolový priechod ),
  • the little white sea tooth ( Vyšný Kolový priechod ),
  • the little white sea tooth ( Malý jahňací zub ),
  • the Lower White Sea Notch ( Nižný jahňací zárez ),
  • the Great White Sea Tooth ( Veľký jahňací zub ) and
  • the Upper White Sea Notch ( Vyšný jahňací zárez ).

The ridge that descends to the northeast on the Kopa Saddle is called the Koperszadzka Grań . The closest elevation in this ridge is the White Head ( Biela kôpka ).

etymology

The German name refers to the Weißseetal ( Dolina Bielych plies ), which lies in the east of the Weißseespitze, and the White Lakes ( Biele plesá kežmarské ) in it. The Slovak and Polish names refer to the Hochkar Lämmergrund ( Jahňacia dolina , Dolina Jagnięca ).
