Wei Tingting

Wei Tingting ( Chinese : 韦婷婷) is a Chinese feminist and homosexuality and women's rights activist.

life and career

Wei grew up in a rural area in southern China and attended Wuhan University . Already in her second year of study she was part of the vagina monologist . She later became the Project Manager Gender Health Education Institute of Beijing , where she organized annual AIDS walks on the Great Wall of China . She has participated in several women's rights conferences in India and South Korea, constantly collecting material for a documentary on bisexuality in China. She was also director of the Ji'ande, an organization working for LGBTIQ using privileges.

activism

In 2012, Wei Tingting and Li Tingting were part of a Valentine's Day protest against domestic violence in Beijing.

2015 it was together with four other activists ( Zheng Churan , Wang Man, Wu Rongrong and Li Tingting, collectively known as the "gang of five") just before International Women's Day , for which they launched a campaign against sexual harassment had planned for public transport, from the Government arrested. All five women were released a few days later.

From the Bustle, an online magazine, the Chinese five feminists were added to the list of "14 women's rights activists from around the world * inside that will inspire you."
