Wèi Wēi ( 魏巍 ) (born January 16, 1920 in Zhengzhou , † August 24, 2008 in Beijing ) was a famous Chinese essayist and novelist. His most famous work is the novel 《東方》  /  《东方》 ( Dōngfāng, East ), written from 1959 to 1978 , for which he received the Mao Dun Literature Prize in 1982 .
