The soft Staffelsee is a quarry pond in the northwest of the city of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony . It was created in 1986 as part of the construction work on the northern bypass along the federal roads 71 and 75 .

The lake, which is mainly surrounded by trees, serves as a local recreation area . It can be circled on a 1.7 km long circular route. In the northwest of the lake there is a sandy beach with a sunbathing area and restaurants. Two beach volleyball fields were created here at the beginning of the 21st century . Part of the site has been prepared for mobile homes .

The area at the lido is used for various events in the summer months.

The lake is used by a Rotenburg fishing club as a fishing water. There is a sailing club near the lido that uses the lake as a sailing area. Driving on the lake with motor boats is prohibited.
