Weilersbach was first mentioned in a document in 764. Many surrounding monasteries (St. Gallen and St. Georgen, as well as the Franciscan and St. John orders of Villingen) and the local nobility had ownership rights to Weilersbach. Weilersbach was badly hit during the Thirty Years' War .

During the great village fire in 1834, 41 of 63 houses were destroyed and then rebuilt in solidarity. Since the fire, all local and domestic joys, sorrows and weddings have been recorded by Heinrich Heini (1950) and edited by Hans Schleicher (see literature).

Weilersbach was part of the Rottweiler brotherhood until 1803 . The village coat of arms with the red book and the bishop's hat comes from this time. In 1810 Weilersbach was given to Baden and Villingen subordinated. On January 1, 1975 it was incorporated into the district town of Villingen-Schwenningen, whose district it has been since then. A multi-purpose hall was to be built in the Herdenen area, where the large Schwarzwald-Baar-Center shopping center was opened in 2000 and where numerous industrial and commercial companies are located. But the construction dragged on for years, and for a long time it was uncertain whether Weilersbach would get a hall. After numerous “hall promotion parties” on the village square, the long promised hall was built in 2000. Because of these discrepancies and the long waiting time, many Weilersbach residents still regard the Herdenen industrial park as part of Weilersbach.

politics

In Weilersbach, the local constitution, adopted in 1970, applies to the mayor and local administration. Every five years, local councils are elected for five years in local elections. These elect a mayor who acts on behalf of the mayor and advises the local council.

regional customs

Weilersbach has a lot of local customs and is known in the surrounding towns for it, for example for Carnival with the “Weilersbacher Bär” and since 1995 with the “Epfelschittler Willerschbach” carnival guild founded by Marion Bauer, Martin Braun and others. The guild has its roots in the great village fire of 1834 and entertains young and old in the village on Shrovetide.

Culture

The big clubs in town include the men's singing Weilersbach 1922 eV, the Musikverein Weilersbach e. V. (with young wind players), Epfeschittler Willerschbach 1995 ev, FC Weilersbach 1919 eV and TC Weilersbach.

The annual theater is usually alternately directed by a Weilersbach association.

FC Weilersbach will play football in the district league from the 2018/19 season. Tennis is also played at TC Weilersbach.
