Freiherr von und zu Franckenstein winery
The Freiherr von und zu Franckenstein winery is a winery with 18.5 hectares of cultivation area on the outskirts of Offenburg in the Baden wine-growing region . Mainly the grape varieties Riesling , Spätburgunder and white Burgundy varieties are grown. The winery is a member of the Association of German Predicate and Quality Wineries .
history
The winery is first mentioned in the 13th century, when it was owned by the Ritter von Bach (landlords in the Offenburg area). The first operational record of a vineyard was made in 1517. In 1710, through marriage, it came into the possession of the current owners, the barons von und zu Franckenstein.
Stefan Huschle has been the tenant of the winery since February 2008.
