Karl Haidle winery

The Karl Haidle winery is located in the Baden-Württemberg community of Kernen in the German wine-growing region Württemberg . It was founded in 1949 and produces 140,000 bottles of wine annually on 19 hectares of vineyards. The winery is a member of the Association of German Prädikats- und Qualitätweingüter e. V. (VDP).

Vineyards

In the Schnaiter Burghaldenstrasse the winery is based primarily Pinot Noir on. This location was mentioned in a document in 1600. It lies in a side valley of the Remstal between 300 and 350 meters in altitude and has an incline of 35%. It consists of sandy loam soils and colored marl.

The Stettener Pulvermächer is located around the ruins of the Yburg . The location was first mentioned in 1650, its name comes from a nearby stone pit. The demolition masters employed there were called "powder makers". The location is between 330 and 360 meters above sea level and consists of keuper with deposits of sandy loam. The winery grows Riesling here .

Grape varieties

The winery produces 40% Riesling, 15% Trollinger , 8% Pinot Noir, 7% each of Kerner and Lemberger . The remaining 23% are allotted to other varieties.
