The Welch Crag is a steep, rugged and about 1,500 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Willett Range , it looms in the northeast part of the McSaveney Trail .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2005 after the geologist Kathleen A. Welch of the University of Alabama , who was involved in eleven field research campaigns of the United States Antarctic Program in the Antarctic Dry Valleys between 1994 and 2004 .
