Welheim is one of 17 districts of the independent city of Bottrop . The name goes back to the Teutonic Knight Order , which had a base in Welheim, the Kommende Welheim .

The district is bounded in the north, south and west by mining and works railways, in the east the Boye forms the border.

Buildings

The workers' settlement Gartenstadt Welheim is located in Welheim. It was built from 1914 to 1923 for the miners of mine 1/2 of the " United Welheim colliery ". Today the settlement is part of the Route of Industrial Heritage .
