Fuhlenbrock is one of 17 districts of the independent city of Bottrop , it is located northwest of the city center.
The name Fuhlenbrock is traced back to a name from the Middle Ages. The region, which protruded beyond the current boundaries of the district, was called the Fauler Bruch. This is due to the poor quality of the soil.
Fuhlenbrock is divided into Fuhlenbrock-Wald and Fuhlenbrock-Heide.

The amphitheater Haniel is located in Fuhlenbrock on the Halde Haniel, where the Halden Glow Festival takes place every year.
Bottrop-Fuhlenbrock can be reached by road via the Königshardt junction (also signposted Bottrop-Fuhlenbrock since October 2019). They can be reached via the federal motorways 2 and 31 .
In local public transport, Bottrop-Fuhlenbrock is served by bus lines 261, 268, 961 and 979 as well as taxi bus line 217 and night express line 18. These bus routes are operated by the Vestische trams and STOAG . The taxi bus line must be ordered half an hour before departure.
