world-views. Magazine for Global Development and Ecumenical Cooperation is a monthly magazine for global issues and cooperation with the Global South . The magazine is published by the Association for the Promotion of Development Political Journalism. V. (VFEP) and is published in an edition of 4400 copies. It appears under the umbrella of the community work of Protestant journalism (GEP) .

In 2003, Protestant and Catholic development agencies from Germany and Switzerland founded the ecumenical European editorial group VFEP. The aim is to promote awareness of development policy through publications and educational work. In the publishing association, the works Bread for All (Bern), Bread for the World - Evangelical Development Service in the Evangelical Work for Diakonie and Development e. V. (Berlin), the Christoffel-Blindenmission e. V. (Bensheim), Fastenopfer (Lucerne), Kindernothilfe e. V. (Duisburg) and the Bischöfliches Hilfswerk Misereor e. V. (Aachen).

The journal has been published since 2008. It was conceived as a follow-up publication to the journal Eins Entwicklungspolitik (or epd-Entwicklungspolitik) and “ der überblick ” (Switzerland). These two publications were discontinued at the end of 2007.

The editors of welt-sichten, in cooperation with the Center for International Migration and Development (CIM) and Engagement Global 2013, published the dossier “Migrants as Bridge Builders”. In the special edition of the magazine, the diverse development-political engagement of migrants as well as possibilities for the promotion of German state funding organizations were presented.

The magazine puts emerging and developing countries at the center of its reporting. welt-sichten brings analyzes, reports and comments on a wide range of topics: development policy, climate change, nature conservation up to peace issues and religions in a global context appear in the issue.

In 2016, welt-sichten warned against crediting German refugee aid to state development aid funds, measured against the Official Development Assistance (ODA quota), as this would distort Germany's actual spending on developing countries.
