World Plant Council

The Weltpflanzenrat ( Global Plant Council ) is an association of national, regional and international professional societies for plant , Useful Plants and Agricultural Sciences . The non-profit council, founded in 2009, unites people who research plants and crops , teach plant, crop and agricultural sciences and deal with topics that do not stop at national borders.

To this end, the Council wants to promote plant sciences, support international collaboration between researchers, make their knowledge and resources available and bring all those involved together in an independent forum. In September 2015, it brought together 29 specialist societies, and thus more than 55,000 plant and crop scientists from Europe , America , Africa , Asia and Australia .
