The Wenderner Stein is located on the 685 m high northeast summit of the 687 m high Grünersberg, southeast of the village of Kleinwendern , municipality of Bad Alexandersbad in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains (northeast Bavaria). In the summit area it bears a unique 36 m long, 9 m wide and 15 m high natural phyllite slate rock, a protected natural monument and geotope . On the west side there is a small Marian grotto .
