Wendy Boorer

Wendy Boorer (born Rowan; born November 14, 1931 in St Albans , England ; † January 2010 ) was a British non-fiction author . She specialized in dog literature for teenagers and adults.

Life

Boorer was the daughter of William and Winifred Rowan, née Brookson. Her father was an employee. In March 1953 she married the zoologist Michael Boorer . This marriage resulted in two sons and a daughter.

From 1949 to 1952 she studied at the University College of Leicester . In 1952 she obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Literature from the University of London .

In addition to writing Boorer worked in the Bücherei- indexing as aviation technician, as a teacher, as a dog breeder and -ausstellerin than dogs counselor from the publisher Elsevier Publishing Co. and as a market researcher and editor, including for publicity Avicultural Magazine , Dog's Life and Animal World .

Boorer was a member of the Avicultural Society , the Bearded Collie Club of Great Britain (where she was secretary from 1969 to 1973), the Griffon Club and the Newfoundland Club.
