Wendy Richard
Wendy Richard MBE (born July 20, 1943 as Wendy Emerton in Middlesbrough , † February 26, 2009 in London ) was a British actress .
Life
Richard attended the Royal Masonic School for Girls, but left at the age of 15 to study acting in London. At the same time, she adopted her stage name. She had her first role in the television series Stranger on the Shore , which used the world hit of the same name as the theme song. In 1965 she starred in Danger Man . That same year she was cast for the role of Joyce Harker in the soap opera The Newcomers . Richard has starred in a number of feature films , including two films in the carry-on series . Your appearance in the Beatles film Hi-Hi-Hilfe! was cut out.
From 1972 to 1985, she played the young, naive but peasant smart department store saleswoman Shirley Brahms in the sitcom Are you being served? ( Are you being served? ) - a role she played again in Grace & Favor 1992/1993. This role brought her into the limelight of a broader public for the first time.
From 1985 to 2006, Wendy Richard played the role of Pauline Fowler from Laundromat in 1405 episodes in the BBC soap opera EastEnders , which focuses on the life of the working class in East London.
