The Wensleydale Valley is a wide valley on Deception Island in the South Shetland Archipelago . It lies north of the Wensleydale Beacon between the Punta Wensley headland and Laguna Hill .
The British geologist Donald Durston Hawkes (* 1934) carried out a geological mapping of the valley in 1961 . Polish scientists named it in 1999 based on the name of the neighboring Wensleydale Beacon.
