Punta Wensley ( Spanish ; in Argentina Punta Murature ) is a headland on the west bank of Port Foster of Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . East of the Wensleydale Beacon, it marks the northern limit of the entrance to Primero de Mayo Bay .
Chilean scientists named it based on the name Monte Wensley, which is common in Chile, for the neighboring Wensleydale Beacon. Argentine scholars, however, named them after the politician José Luis Murature (1876–1929), Argentina's foreign minister from 1914 to 1916.
