Werner Dahms (born March 24, 1920 in Stettin ; † September 2, 1999 in Salzburg , Austria ) was a German actor .

Live and act

After attending drama school in 1940, Dahms made his debut at the Prussian state theaters under Gustaf Gründgens . He then officially belonged to the ensemble of the Reussian Theater in Gera until 1944 , but Dahms had de facto moved in. He began his post-war career in Darmstadt. This was followed by engagements at stages in Göttingen, Hamburg (from 1950 Deutsches Schauspielhaus), Düsseldorf and Zurich. Werner Dahms then worked as a freelancer for a time and only accepted piece contracts for guest performances (e.g. to Munich). He later had himself tied again, for example on stages in Bochum and Bremen.

His most famous theater roles were u. a. the Creveaux in Zuckmayer's Gesang im Feuerofen , the Don Cesar in The Bride of Messina , the Kilroy in Williams' Camino Real and the Laertes in Shakespeare's Hamlet . Dahm also worked for radio and occasionally made movies. Since the beginning of the television age in the Federal Republic (1953) he was seen several times in television productions, especially in the 1960s and early 1970s.
