Werner Eng

Werner Eng (* 1967 in Brazil ) is a German actor.

Life

Werner Eng was born in Brazil in 1967 and studied acting and directing at the Novalis School for Speech Formation and Dramatic Art in Stuttgart. Engagements took him to the Novalis stage Stuttgart (1987–95), the Theater St. Pölten (1995–97), the Junge Theater Göttingen (1998–2001). In 1995 he was awarded the “Youngster of Arts Europe” prize by the city of St. Pölten for his work . From 2001 to 2019 Werner Eng worked as a freelance artist and worked at stages in Basel, Vienna, Graz, Zurich, Magdeburg, Dessau, the Maxim Gorki Theater and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin. He has been a member of the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz ensemble since the 2018/2019 season . In 2006 he was a permanent member of the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam. He worked with directors such as Sebastian Hartmann , Lukas Langhoff and Sebastian Baumgarten and was a member of the ensemble in Herbert Fritsch's productions at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin: Die (S) panische Fliege (2011), Murmel Murmel (2012), Frau Luna (2013), Untitled No. 1 - An opera by Herbert Fritsch (2014) and the man (2015). In 2011 Werner Eng directed Pension Schöller at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau. Werner Eng has already been invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen several times, in 2012 with Die (S) panische Fliege , 2013 with Murmel Murmel and in 2014 with Untitled No. 1 - An Opera by Herbert Fritsch . Werner Eng also played in the films Elf Onkel (2010) by Herbert Fritsch, Vodopad (2009), Korridor Nr. 50 (2015) and Dominos Dixit (2016), all directed by Evy Schubert .
