Werner Friedl (politician)

Werner Friedl (born December 24, 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and tax officer. He has been mayor of the Zurndorf market town since 2009 and was a member of the Burgenland state parliament from 2010 to February 2020 .

Life

Friedl attended elementary and secondary school in Zurndorf and then switched to a business school in Vienna. After completing his school education, Friedl joined the tax office in Bruck an der Leitha as a tax officer in 1969 , where he was most recently employed in the tax office's information center.

Friedl has been married since 1974 and has a daughter.

politics

In the political field, Friedl was elected Vice Mayor of Zurndorf in 2008, where he was elected Managing Mayor on December 11, 2008 and Mayor in 2009. Friedl ran in the state elections in Burgenland 2010 in 5th place in the SPÖ district election proposal for the state constituency of Neusiedl am See and was sworn in as a member of the state parliament on June 24, 2010. After the state elections in 2020 , he left the state parliament.
