Werner Gans (born December 11, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defender Werner Gans began his career at Hövelhofer SV . In the summer of 1976 he moved to TuS Schloß Neuhaus from Paderborn , which had just been relegated from the Association League. Gans managed with his team the direct promotion and 1978 qualification for the newly created Oberliga Westfalen . After a runner-up in 1979 behind SC Herford , Gans was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga three years later with his team . On August 24, 1982 Gans celebrated his second division debut in the 1: 2 defeat of Neuhäuser against Kickers Offenbach . After 19 second division games in which he failed to score, Gans and his team rose from bottom of the table at the end of the season. He left Neuhaus Castle with an unknown destination.
