Werner Gocksch

Werner Gocksch (born July 15, 1922 in Seddin , † May 19, 2006 in Treuenbrietzen ) was a German painter and illustrator .

Life

Werner Gocksch obtained his university entrance qualification in 1942 after attending what was then the Althoff School (Realgymnasium) in Potsdam- Babelsberg . He was then a soldier in Tunisia and was taken prisoner by the Americans in 1943. From 1947 to 1951 he was a student at the University of Education in Berlin in the class of Fritz Kuhr , Arthur Degner and Georg Kinzer .

He then worked as an art teacher at the Erich Hoepner Oberschule in Berlin until 1963 . After his school service he was a lecturer at the University of Education in Berlin and was appointed professor in 1971. After the college of education was closed, he taught at the Berlin University of the Arts , today Berlin University of the Arts , retired in 1986 and died on May 19, 2006 in Treuenbrietzen.
