Ernst Hermann Werner Hesse (born December 30, 1929 in Northeim ; † August 19, 2014 there ) was a German local politician ( SPD ).

Life

Werner Hesse was born on December 30, 1929 in Northeim. In the final phase of the Second World War he was used as a soldier. After the war, Hesse went into public administration and later became administrative director at the employment offices in Göttingen and Northeim.

He had been married since 1956 and had a son.

After his retirement, Hesse continued to be involved in various ways in the city and published numerous writings on the city's history. He died on August 19, 2014 in Northeim. On August 23, 2014, a funeral service for Werner Hesse took place in the Sankt Sixti Church , which was attended by the population.

Public and political functions

Hesse joined the SPD in 1958. From 1964 to 1980 he was chairman of the Northeim SPD.

In 1961 he became a member of the Northeim City Council, of which he was a member until 1980. From 1964 to 1972 Werner Hesse was 2nd Senator and Deputy Mayor of Northeim. From 1972 to 1980 he was parliamentary group leader of his party in the city council. In 1980 he was elected Northeim City Director and thus head of administration and remained so until 1993.
