Werner Jugold (born October 3, 1925 ) was a football player in Saxony . For the SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt he played from 1956 to 1957 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR Football Association .

Athletic career

Jugold began his footballing career with SG Bernsdorf, which played for the Chemnitz district championship after the Second World War . In 1954, Jugold and the company sports association (BSG) Motor West Karl-Marx-Stadt (formerly Chemnitz ) became champions of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district league , which rose to the second-rate GDR league . Although the BSG Motor West achieved a respectable 7th place out of 14 teams as a newcomer, it was relegated to the newly established 2nd GDR League after a year due to the reduction in the league teams . The BSG had a goal difference of 23:29, Jugold had scored 18 goals alone and was the top scorer of his team. In the fall of 1955, an intermediate round was held in the GDR soccer game, so that from 1956 onwards, it could be played according to the calendar year rhythm. In the second GDR league 13 rounds were completed, in which Jugold again proved his scoring risk with eleven goals.

For the 1956 season, the local rival and GDR upper division club SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt had lost three of their regular strikers and included the successful striker Jugold in their upper division team. On the 5th matchday he came in the match between SC Turbine Erfurt - SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt (0: 1) for the first time in the league. He was then used in all the league games of the season and was also the top scorer at SC Motor with seven goals. He was able to repeat this success in the 1957 season with seven hits, although he was only used in 19 point games. However, his goals could not prevent relegation to the I. GDR League. The 32-year-old Jugold took this as an opportunity to end his career as a football player in the performance area after 41 league games with 14 goals.
