Werner Lohr

Werner Lohr (* in Rüdesheim ) is a German radio presenter and jazz musician ( trombone , tuba )

Lohr began his musical training, beginning with the violin, followed by the trombone and baritone horn . He studied musicology and music education and has been working for Hessischer Rundfunk since 1977 . Lohr worked there as a program designer and music editor in the entertainment department. Soon he was hosting his own pop and rock programs on hr3 , but was also a presenter for other broadcasters. Until September 2014 Lohr presented various programs on hr4 and on hr 2 Die Klassik-Wünsche.

In addition, Lohr has been active as a jazz musician for many years and played mainstream jazz . Then he worked for the Hanauer Sugarfoot Stompers , with whom he recorded a CD in 2006. He also plays tuba programs with his own band.

Lohr is a board member of the “German Tuba Forum”, where he is responsible for the jazz / popular music area.
