Werner Maissenbacher (* 20th century) is a former German table tennis player . Until 1996 he won one gold and two bronze medals as well as a world championship at the Paralympic Games .

Career

Maissenbacher played in the TT8 performance group due to his disability.

He started playing table tennis at SV Büchenbronn . With Richard Schuler he reached 3rd place at the district championships in 1986/1987 in performance group B in doubles.

In 1992 he won the bronze medal with the German national table tennis team at the Paralympic Summer Games in 1992 and in the men's singles. Four years later he won the gold medal with the national team in Atlanta . In the same year he won the world championship title with the German team in the TT 6 - 8 performance group alongside Thomas Kurfeß , Thomas Schmitt and Jochen Wollmert .

In 1992, Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker awarded Maissenbacher the Silver Laurel Leaf .
