Summer Paralympics 1992 / table tennis
At the 1992 Summer Paralympics in Barcelona , medals were awarded in a total of 30 table tennis competitions. There were nine medals for women and 21 for men. The athletes fought in individual and team competitions, as well as in open competitions for the medals.
Classes
There were ten classes in table tennis. Classes TT 1 to TT 5 started in a wheelchair, classes TT 6 to TT 10 while standing.
For the women, competitions were not held in all classes. There were four competitions in the individual, three in the team competition, and two in the open competitions.
The men's singles were played in all ten classes. As with the women, there were two open competitions here too. Men's team competitions were held in nine out of ten classes.
