Werner Preissing

Werner Preißing (* 1947 in Rosenheim ) is a German textbook author and business consultant . He runs the innovation research office in Mainz. Preißing works as a freelance architect, systems analyst, author of numerous specialist publications, lecturer in innovation management, logistics and system analysis, consultant and coach for strategic corporate development and succession management.

Life

Werner Preißing began his academic career from 1968 to 1973 with a degree in economics and architecture at the University of Stuttgart with a degree in engineering. In 1977 he received his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart.

As a freelance architect, in addition to his planning activities in structural engineering, he initially devoted himself to system analysis and developed methods for analyzing and advising architecture and engineering offices . His activity (1973 to 1979) as a systems analyst at the RIB computing and development institute for EDV in construction, Stuttgart, focused on EDP research and development in construction. From 1979 to 1980 he became a partner in the BAM office for applied mathematics in Stuttgart. At the same time, Preißing founded a planning and consulting office in 1979. In 1980 the company also had its own architectural office. 1981 the establishment of the "Office for Innovation Research BfI" in Mainz. From 1994 to 1997 he is President of the Association of Freelance Architects (VfA). In 1999 he founded the Dr.-Ing. Preißing AG, Filderstadt Entrepreneurial consultancy for architects and engineers. In 2003 he initiated the Master of Business Administration (MBA) architecture management course together with the Steinbeis University in Berlin ; which he looks after together with his son Andreas (* 1973) as a project manager. In 2007 Preißing founded the Center for Art Transfer ID factory at the University of Dortmund together with Ursula Bertram (* 1952) and in 2019 ID factory France. Since 2018 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of Dr.-Ing. Preissing AG.

  • 1981 to 1985 teaching position at the technical college in Stuttgart in the field of "economic planning, building organization".
  • 2000 to 2003 teaching position at the Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences on the subject of "Business Administration and Project Management".

  • Visual Thinking : Three-dimensional imagery for analyzing and solving problems. Visual Thinking is a thinking method based on systems analysis, brain research, philosophy and visualization techniques. Preissing has developed a visual language that is based on natural processes in the brain. Keyword: thinking in pictures.
