Werner Schachten (born September 16, 1954 ) is a former German football player .
Career
The striker Werner Schachten first played for 1. FC Paderborn in the Association League Westphalia . In the summer of 1976 he moved to the Bundesliga club VfL Bochum , but initially only played in the amateur team. He made his professional debut on November 23, 1979 in Bochum's 3-1 defeat at Bayer 04 Leverkusen . It was the first of three Bundesliga games in which Schachten failed to score. In the summer of 1980 he left Bochum with an unknown destination.
His son Sebastian Schachten also became a professional soccer player and played for SC Paderborn 07 , Borussia Mönchengladbach , FC St. Pauli and currently for FC Luzern .
