Sebastian Schachten (born November 6, 1984 in Bad Karlshafen ) is a German soccer player .
Career
The son of ex-professional Werner Schachten began playing soccer at FC Weser, a soccer club in Bodenfelde and Lippoldsberg / Wahlsburg, and came to SC Paderborn via SVG Einbeck , SVG Göttingen and SCW Göttingen , with whom he joined the 2nd Bundesliga promotion. For the 2005/06 season moved shafts in the Regional team of Werder Bremen , where he established himself a regular player.
For the 2007/08 season he moved to the second division Borussia Mönchengladbach . On February 1, 2008 he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Marcel Ndjeng in the 85th minute of the game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . With Borussia he managed to get promoted back to the Bundesliga. However, he himself was not part of the Mönchengladbach regular team, also because of longer injury-related absences.
In 2009 he returned from Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan for a year to SC Paderborn 07 to gain match practice there. On July 1, 2010 , he rejoined the Borussia Mönchengladbach team, where he fulfilled his contract until June 2011.
He then moved to FC St. Pauli, who had been relegated to the second Bundesliga, on a free transfer . On the 7th matchday in the home game against TSV 1860 Munich (4: 2 win for St. Pauli) he scored the important 2: 2 and landed in the kicker "Eleven of the Day" for the first time .
Schachten can act in defense on both the right and left flanks.
On May 30, 2015, FC St. Pauli announced the separation of shafts. His contract was not extended beyond the end of the season. For the 2015/16 season he is moving to Switzerland for the first division club FC Luzern . There he signed a two-year contract. On June 29, 2016 it was announced that he was leaving FC Luzern after just one season.
For the 2016/17 season he moved back to Germany to the third division club FSV Frankfurt .
