Werner Schneider (calligrapher)

Werner Schneider (* 1935 in Marburg ) is a German designer and calligrapher .

Schneider studied from 1954 to 1958 at the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden under Friedrich Poppl . Werner Schneider was significantly influenced by this in his work. After completing his studies, Schneider became Poppl's assistant. For a period of 40 years, Schneider taught there in the field of communication design .

Schneider has received several awards for his work from the Type Directors Club of New York (TDC).

For several years he has been living and working in the Bad Laaspher district of Feudingen . He donated part of his archive to the Berlin Calligraphy Collection .
