Werner Vitt

Werner Vitt (born December 30, 1926 - † July 1, 2014 in Hanover ) was a German trade unionist.

Life

Werner Vitt had been a member of the SPD since 1947 and party secretary in the Nahe-Hunsrück sub-district until 1949 . From 1949 he worked in Birkenfeld and later in Koblenz in the public social administration, where he was elected works council member and works council chairman. In 1951 he switched to the chemical-paper-ceramic union in the Rhineland-Palatinate district as a full-time youth secretary , in 1955 he became an employee secretary and in 1957 district manager. In 1960 he took over the main department “Youth and Education” on the executive board and from 1966 the main department “Works council participation”. From 1969 to 1988 he was deputy chairman of the IG Chemie and was therefore also a member of the DGB federal committee and other committees and working groups, so he was temporarily deputy chairman of the board of trustees of the Hans Böckler Foundation . From 1973 to 1986 Vitt was a member of the SPD party executive.
