Werner Wiesner

Werner Wiesner (born March 19, 1902 in Ballerstedt , † July 15, 1974 in Mainz ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

From 1921 to 1925 he studied theology in Tübingen , Greifswald , Rostock and Halle- Wittenberg . After the first theological exam in 1925 at the University of Halle-Wittenberg , he studied from 1925 to 1926 at the seminary of the Cathedral Candidate Foundation in Berlin. After receiving his doctorate in 1929 with Paul Althaus at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and his habilitation in 1945 at the University of Göttingen , he was Professor of Systematic Theology in Mainz from 1949 to 1968 .
