Werner Zielke (born December 31, 1929 ) is a former German soccer player .

Player career

Werner Zielke began his career at BFC Viktoria in 1889 . In 1952 he switched to Tennis Borussia Berlin . There he could not really assert himself and only completed 14 league games, whereupon Zielke returned to his home club after two years.

There he should experience his most successful time as a player. He won two Berlin championships with Viktoria and qualified for the final round of the German championship. In 1955 , however, they had to admit defeat in all six group games in Kaiserslautern , Hamburger SV and even SV Sodingen and thus go back to Berlin with 0 points . In the next attempt in 1956 , when Zielke was in goal in four out of six games, two points were achieved, with the eventual champions Borussia Dortmund being able to win an away draw.

Overall, Werner Zielke played 48 games for Viktoria in two attempts in the contract league Berlin .

In 1957 he left Viktoria for the second time and joined Hertha BSC . But Zielke was initially unable to assert himself there. Even when regular goalkeeper Kurt Großmann failed to play, the veteran Heinz Götsch played in goal . In the following season, Zielke was surprisingly in goal from the first day of play, but then lost that place after the third day of play and a disastrous 2: 5 at Hertha 03 Zehlendorf . In total, Zielke made eleven league games this season. Since Wolfgang Tillich, who was ten years younger than him, was traded as Großmann's successor, Zielke turned his back on the old lady .
