The ice rink Franz-Siegel-Halle , home of the ice hockey club EHC Freiburg from the DEL2 , borders the stadium area directly to the north.

Users

The Weststadion is the home of the amateur club Sportfreunde Eintracht Freiburg . From 2006 to 2008 the women's soccer team of SC Freiburg also played their home games in the Weststadion. The stadium had to be rebuilt for this. The women of SC Freiburg have been playing in the Möslestadion since the 2008/09 season .

modification

From the summer of 2006, the stadium was converted to make it suitable for the Bundesliga. First, the playing field was enlarged and a new turf was laid. Standing stands were built for the spectators, the renewal of the seating stands and the associated changing rooms and sanitary facilities were delayed due to objections from residents and did not begin until summer 2007. The renovation and new construction work should be completed by early 2008.
