Wettingen is a village and part of the municipality of Nerenstetten in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg .
history
Wettingen was first mentioned in a document in 1100, when Adelheim von Öllingen gave a hat to Wettingen to the Hirsau monastery. On June 9, 1920 Wettingen came to Nerenstetten as a district. As a parish , Wettingen remained independent and is now the smallest in the Evangelical Church in Württemberg .
Wettingen has been on friendly terms with the municipality of the same name in the Swiss canton of Aargau since 1995 .
