Weynay ghebresilasia

Weynay Ghebresilasie (born May 24, 1994 ) is an Eritrean athlete who specializes in the obstacle course .

Ghebresilasie finished 30th in the junior race at the 2011 Cross Country World Championships in Punta Umbría. At the Junior World Championships in Athletics in 2012 in Barcelona, ​​he was sixth in the obstacle course. Shortly thereafter, he started in the same discipline at the Olympic Games in London , but retired early as tenth in his preliminary run. Ghebresilasie was the flag bearer of the Eritrean team in London. After the Olympics, he applied for political asylum in Great Britain. He now lives in Sunderland and starts for the Sunderland Harriers .
