The Whistle Pass (English for Whistle Pass ) is a snowy mountain pass in the north of Alexander I Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . At the head end of the Sullivan Glacier , it runs at around 1050 m in a northeast-southwest direction and provides access to the upper section of the Hampton Glacier .
It was named in 1977 by the British Antarctic Survey . Its name suggests the speed and pleasure of a sleigh ride over the steep slope of the pass to the southwest between high cliffs.
