The Whistler Nunatak is a 1500 m high nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises west of Mount Mende in the Sky-Hi-Nunatakkern .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1987 after the so-called Whistler effect , which is generated by the change in amplitude of radio signals in the high atmosphere .
