White Skull is an Italian power metal band from Vicenza . Her songs, sung basically in English, are about stories from the Middle Ages , the time of the Vikings and epic themes.
history
The band was formed in Vicenza in 1988 . In 1991 the first, self-titled demo was created . After a few live appearances in Italy, she released the demo Save the Planet in 1994 , followed by sampler contributions for Nightpieces 4 and Area Sismica in 1995 . The Italian independent label Underground Symphony released the debut album I Won't Burn Alone in the same year and the second album Embittered in 1997 . In Italy White Skull took over the support for Overkill for a tour and in Germany for Doro and UDO
The EP Asgard was released in 1999 as a predecessor to the first concept album Tales from the North , which dealt with the Vikings. Guest singer is Chris Boltendahl . With his band Grave Digger , White Skull was on tour in Germany.
Public Glory, Secret Agony appeared on Udo Dirkschneider's label Breaker Records , the album was distributed via Nuclear Blast . Shortly after the release, singer Federica “Sister” De Boni resigned and was succeeded by the Argentinian Gustavo “Gus” Gabarro.
In 2001 the concept album The Dark Age was released. It dealt with the Middle Ages, especially the Inquisition . There is also a Spanish-language version of the album that was only released in South America . Danilo Bar (guitar) and Steve Balocco (bass) joined the band between 2003 and 2004. In 2004 The XIII Skull was released on the Frontier Records label. Due to health problems of the drummer Alex Mantiero, White Skull concentrated on the songwriting for the album The Ring of the Ancients . Again it is a concept album, this time it is about the Celts . It was released in 2006. Gabaro left in 2007, the band chose Elisa "Over" De Palma as the singer. At the end of 2010 Federica "Sister" De Boni returned to the band as a singer.
