The next places are Upper Kalskag (21 km northwest), Aniak (34 km northeast) and Russian Mission (82 km northwest). The almost circular lake has an area of 74.4 km² and a maximum length of 11 km. The fish species Coregonus sardinella ("least cisco") also occurs in the lake .
