The Whitefish Lake ( Lake Whitefish is the English. Name of lake whitefish ) is a lake in Thunder Bay District in the southwest of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The 30 km² Whitefish Lake is located southwest of Nolalu and 70 km west of Thunder Bay . The lake has an open water surface and has an east-west longitudinal extension of 11 km and a width of 4 km. The maximum water depth is 7 m. The Ontario Highway 588 runs along its north shore. The lake is drained through the Little Whitefish River , Arrow River and Pigeon River to Lake Superior .
Whitefish Lake is a popular fishing spot. In the lake you can catch glass eye perch , Canadian pikeperch , trout and black bass , pike , American perch and herring vendace.
